iOS mobile configs for CERN usage

.. or how to install and preconfigure some iOS settings for iPhone/iPad usage at CERN

Prerequisites

  • Apple iOS 7 (7.0.4) for CERN Kerberos Single Sign On mobileconfig
  • Apple iOS 6 or 7 for CERN CA Certificates mobileconfig

Installation

  • CERN CA Certificates mobileconfig

    Download cernsslcert.mobileconfig from your iDevice.

  • CERN Kerberos Single Sign On mobileconfig

    Download cernkrbsso.mobileconfig from your iDevice.
    Specify your CERN 'login' when prompted during installation.

Usage

CERN Kerberos Single Sign On

Select 'Sign in using your current
Windows/Kerberos credentials'		    Enter your CERN account password
  

Known problems

  • Sometimes Kerberos authentication does not work as expected: it seems this happens when iDevice changes networks after a valid ticket has been acquired ... seems like a bug in iOS 7 ...
